Electric Power Generation

Electric power supply is another core business of Guangdong Investment Limited. Its investments include Zhongshan Power Plant Co. Ltd., Shaoguan Power Plant (D) Limited, Guangdong Shaoguan Yue Jiang Power Supply Limited and Meixian Power Plant.
Zhongshan Power Plant Co. Ltd. ("Zhongshan Power Plant")
Zhongshan Power Plant, a subsidiary of the Company, currently has 2 power units with a total installed capacity of 110 MW.
The Group intends for the construction of two 300,000-kilowatt heat and electricity supply plants (the "Project") utilising the existing land and production facilities of Zhongshan Power Plant. At present, it is estimated that the Project will have a total investment cost of approximately RMB3 billion. The Project is very much contingent upon all the requisite approvals of the relevant PRC government authorities being obtained.
Shaoguan Power Plant (D) Limited ("Shaoguan PPD")
The Group's effective interest in Shaoguan PPD is 45.9% (a 51%-owned subsidiary of the Company holding a 90%-interest in the project joint venture company). Shaoguan PPD's power generation unit was closed down at the end of 2008.
Guangdong Shaoguan Yue Jiang Power Supply Limited ("Yue Jiang Power Plant")
Yue Jiang Power Plant is a 25% associate held by Shaoguan PPD. Yue Jiang Power Plant currently has 2 power units each with an installed capacity of 300 MW, total installed capacity of 600 MW.
Guangdong Yuejia Electric Power Co., Ltd. ("Meixian Power Plant")
The Group's effective interest in Meixian Power Plant is 12.3% (a 49% associate of the Company, Guangdong Power Investment Limited, holding a 25%-interest in the project joint venture company). The Meixian Power Plant has a total of 4 power units with an aggregate installed capacity of 520 MW.
Guangdong Yudean Jinghai Power Generation Co., Ltd. ("Hui Lai Power Plant")
The Group's effective interest in Hui Lai Power Plant is 25%. The Hui Lai Power Plant currently has 2 power units each with an installed capacity of 600 MW.
